FOOTBALL - U12: The Under 12 teams hosted Kilcummin in two cracking end-to-end games last Thursday evening. The Black team were very unlucky to lose by two points, 4-12 to 5-11. The Amber team continued their winning ways with a 5-19 to 5-09 victory. The next fixture is on Sunday 1st May at 6pm – Both teams (Away) v Austin Stacks.

FOOTBALL - U14: In a tight game played in Lewis Road, the Black team lost out to Legion by a goal, 2-06 to 0-15. The Amber team recorded an impressive 4-11 to 2-03 win over Ballymac at home. The next fixture is Wednesday 27th of April at 7pm. The Amber (Away) v An Ghaeltacht and Black (Home) v Beaufort B.

FOOTBALL - U16: There was no joy for the Amber team in the East Kerry League as it was Kenmare Shamrocks who took the two points from the clash in Lewis Road. The final score was 8-08 to 3-07.

SENIOR CLUB FOOTBALL C'SHIP QUARTER FINAL: Dr Crokes 4-17, Kilcummin 0-07. This game played at Lewis Road resulted in a big win for us in the end. We had the advantages of the breeze in the first half and we were well matched by our opponents in the first quarter. They in fact led by 0-04 to 0-03 after 15 minutes. The teams exchanged points in the next two minutes but the remainder of the half belonged to us, as we went in to score 1-6 without reply. This left us eight points ahead at half time 1-10 to 0-05. Kilcummin needed a good start to the second half but the opposite happened. We had 1-03 in the first five minutes, to put us 14 points ahead. A point by our opponents was followed by a Tony Brosnan goal for us in the 40th minute (one of three goals scored by our number 13). The game became sloppy in the last quarter. Kilcummin to their credit never gave up but the lead against them was too considerable for them to have a chance of winning. Both teams emptied their benches as we went on to score 1-04 to our opponents 0-01. Team and scorers: Shane Murphy, John Payne, Mike Moloney, Fionn Fitzgerald, Shane Doolan 0-01, Alan O'Sullivan 0-01, Mike Milner, Eoin Brosnan, Daithi Casey 1-04 (1-00 penalty, 0-02 frees), Michael Burns 0-01, Gavin O'Shea, Brian Looney 0-02 (0-01 45'), Tony Brosnan 3-02, Kieran O'Leary 0-03, Jordan Kiely 0-01. Subs: Andrew Kennelly 0-01, David O'Leary, Ambrose O'Donovan, Jason Lyne 0-01, P.J. Lawlor, Mark Egan.

FOOTBALL - U12: There were goals galore on Sunday evening in Lewis Road when Glenflesk travelled in to play our Black and Amber teams. The Black team put in a great team performance but unfortunately it was Glenflesk who had the upper-hand on the night, winning the game by 3-19 to 5-07. Some clever and skilful attacking play helped the Amber team to a 5-17 to 5-07 victory over the visitors in the second game. Upcoming fixtures: Thurs, 21st April at 6pm – Black & Amber (Home) v Kilcummin (Back Game); Sun, 24th April at 6pm – Black & Amber (Home) v Laune Rangers.

FOOTBALL - U14: It was a great week for our U14 teams as they both recorded two well-earned wins. In Division 1, the Black team had a great battle at home against Laune Rangers. Both sides traded scores throughout the encounter but thankfully the Crokes won by a goal in the finish, 2-08 to 0-11. The Amber team secured a convincing  2-12 to 2-02 victory when they travelled to Firies. Upcoming fixtures: Wed, 20th April at 7pm – Black team (Home) v Legion & Amber team (Home) v Ballymac B.

FOOTBALL - U16: Our U16’s had a great win at home to Legion in the East Kerry League on Monday last. Crokes led 1-05 to 0-05 at half-time before going on to win the game 4-07 to 1-08. Upcoming fixtures: Mon, 18th April at 7pm – Amber team (Home) v Kenmare; Mon, 25th April at 7pm – Black team (Away) v Spa; Amber team (Away) v Kilcummin

LOTTO: Draw took place in the Tatler Jack on Sunday last. Numbers drawn 2, 3, 8, 22. No winner of the jackpot of €3,600. Match 3, 11 players each received €40. Next weeks jackpot is €3,900. Draw will take place in the Tatler Jack on Sunday 17th April 2016.

SENIOR CO. FOOTBALL LEAGUE - DIV. 1; ROUND 3: Dr. Crokes 3-21 John Mitchels 1-05. As a result of this good win over John Mitchels we stand as joint leaders of the Division with six points from three games played. We found it hard in the first quarter to break down a well marshalled Mitchels defence. A goal however after twelve minutes, which put us five points clear made our opponents more attack conscious but it also left gaps in their defence and allowed us to get more scoring chances. During this second quarter we scored eight points to our opponents 1-1. This gave us a half time lead of 1-11 to 1-02. The visitors had the first score of the second half, a point in the 33rd minute. We reacted quickly and sent over four points without reply. The game was over as a contest before the end of the third quater when we struck for two goals in as many minutes. In fairness to Mitchels they never stopped trying but we knocked over six points to our opponents one, all of these points scored by substitutes Tony Brosnan, Micheál Burns and Jordan Kiely. This is John Mitchels first time in many years in Division 1. They are probably at the moment finding life in this Division fairly tough but they could still be able to accumulate enough of points to stay in this Division. It was very pleasing that eleven of our players scored, our top marks man being our substitute Tony Brosnan with 1-05. Team and Scorers: Shane Murphy, John Payne, Mike Moloney, Cilian Fitzgerald, Jason Lyne, Alan O'Sullivan, Shane Doolan (0-02), Eoin Brosnan (0-01), Mike Milner (0-01), Andrew Kenneally (1-00), Gavin O'Shea, Brian Looney (1-03), Kieran O'Leary (0-03), Daithi Casey (0-01), Chris Brady (0-01). Subs: Tony Brosnan (1-05), Micheál Burns (0-02), Jordan Kiely (0-02), David O'Leary.

LADIES FOOTBALL - U14: Dr. Crokes U14 girls played Kerins O'Rahillys in County League Div 4.  Both sides superbly observed a minutes silence before throw in, in respect of their fellow U14 GAA sister Ciara Ryan who tragically passed away while playing with her club side in Gorey, Co Wexford. In the game itself Crokes industry and ability to create and take goal scoring opportunities were the deciding factors. But the sad passing of Ciara Ryan in Wexford rightly served to diminish the importance of the result and emphasised how much we should cherish the health of our young children.

JUVENILE ACADEMY: Our U8 and U10 boys teams were on the road at the weekend as they travelled to play Kenmare Shamrocks. All the players had great fun on the bus and they played some really exciting football. It was a brilliant trip and credit to the Kenmare club for their top class hospitality.

FOOTBALL - U12: Both under 12 teams were due to host Kilcummin at home on Sunday evening but the games were called off due to poor weather conditions. The games will be re-scheduled for a later date. Upcoming fixtures: Both teams will play Glenflesk at 6pm in Lewis Road on Sunday, 17th April.

FOOTBALL - U14: It was a mixed start to the year for our U14 teams as both teams travelled to Tralee to play Austin Stacks in the County League on Wednesday evening. Stacks took all two points in the Division 1 clash after they won on a scoreline of 6-8 to 0-12. The Dr Crokes Amber team got off to a winning start with a terrific 6-7 to 1-6 victory. Upcoming fixtures: Dr Crokes Black (home) v Laune Rangers at 7pm on Wednesday, 13th April. Dr Crokes Amber (away) v Firies at 7pm  on Wednesday, 13th April.

FOOTBALL - U16: There was no joy for our under 16 footballers in the East Kerry league last week as both sides were defeated. In the Division 1 game, Rathmore came out of the blocks the quickest and the scoring lead they built up in the first half proved too difficult for our lads to overturn. In the finish the visitors won by 1-14 to 0-12. In Division 5, our second team were defeated away to Currow. Upcoming fixtures: Monday 18th April: Div 1 – Bye; Div 5 – Home v Kenmare at 7pm.

LOTTO: Draw took place in the Speakeasy on Sunday last. Numbers drawn 7, 10, 17, 24. No winner of the jackpot of €3,300. Match 3, 15 players each received €30. Next weeks jackpot is €3,600. Draw will take place in the Tatler Jack on Sunday 10th April 2016.

SENIOR HURLING: Training for the senior hurling team continues each week, Monday's & Friday's at 7:30pm with indoor circuit training on Wednesday's at 7:30pm. First competitive match in the South Kerry Senior Hurling League in 3 weeks time.

JUVENILE HURLING - U12: The U12 hurlers had a hard fought victory over Tralee Parnell's on Friday evening last. Thankfully, the weather improved prior to the throw-in which made conditions ideal for this contest. We performed well as a team, defending strong and consistently threatening the oppositions defence. While we led at half-time, Tralee Parnell's struck early in the second half with two goals to bring them within a point but this was as close as they came. It was also great to see the support for both sides in the stand. This Friday, we are away to Rathmore with throw-in scheduled for 7:00pm.

JUVENILE HURLING - U14: Our U14 hurlers had a bye last weekend. We are away to Crotta O'Neills this Saturday with throw-in scheduled for 6:00pm. Training this Friday evening from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL - U14: A thunderstorm forced the abandonment of our fixture away to Spa on Sunday 3/4/16. The game will be replayed in due course and our next scheduled fixture is home to Kerins O'Rahillys the weekend of 9-10/4/16.

JUVENILE FOOTBALL - U12: The Under 12 footballers made a great start to their County League Campaigns on Sunday evening with two hard fought victories over Ballymacelligott. The Black team defeated the visitors on a scoreline of 5-6 to 2-9 while the Amber team made a terrific comeback to secure a 5-7 to 3-9 win. Both teams played some fantastic football despite the difficult weather conditions and every player enjoyed some game time. Both U12 teams are at home to Kilcummin at 6pm on Sunday 10th April.

JUVENILE FOOTBALL - U16: It finished all square when the Under 16 boys travelled to Glenflesk for their first game in Division One of the East Kerry League. In Lewis Road, Keel-Listry proved too strong for our second team in their first outing of the year in Division Five. The Div 1 team are at home to Legion at 7pm on Monday 11th April. The Div 5 team have a bye.

CONGRATULATIONS: to St Brendan College Boys on their All Ireland Win on Saturday 2nd of April especially to the Crokes lad on the team and Vince Cooper of the back room team.
