County League Div2 Rd1 Vs Tralee Parnells
Dr Crokes Senior Hurlers welcomed Tralee Parnells on Wed 29th May to commence our county league campaign. This was Parnells first game in county competition since achieving senior status and to mark the occasion Dr Crokes made a presentation to the team and mentors before the game.
The pageantry did not distract our players from the task at hand and although slow to start we worked our way into a half time lead of 1-12 to 0-11. The goal 5 mins before the interval from Shane Arthur giving us the edge.
In the second half our backs started to get on top of the lively Parnells outfit, and with good direct running from our forwards we created the opportunities to close the game out with further goals from Jack Lenihan and Colm O CÚiv. Final score 3-16 to 2-13.

The result was never in doubt and we drove on to win by a 21 point margin with the final score 1-8 to 4-20.

Under 12 Girls
The clubs U12 girls have played three further rounds of the county league since their last report. The first was a home game v ISG Kenmare, when they ran out comfortable winners after scoring 5 -03 by the final whistle. As good and all as the forward played on the night, it was the defence that caught the eye. Marshalled well by goalkeeper Natalia Mai, full- back Joycelyn Hickey and centre back Aoileann Ní Dhúbháin were impenetrable. Cornerbacks Ellie Galvin and Sinead Byrne were in a determined mood all evening hardly giving the opponents a look at the ball. Annie Brosnan, Miren O'Connor, Sophie Donnelly and Emma Cudden played outstanding football throughout. Midfielders Síofra Randles and Norah McGlynn were in tremendous form all evening and gave the forward lines plenty supply of the ball, that allowed the team to notch up this home win. Their second game was on the road to Dingle and it transpired to be the game of the season for the girls. Played on a beautiful summers evening the home team hit the ground running and posted the first two points of the match. With Keela O Connor playing at wing back and Ella Bartlett having her first start of the year at midfield, both inspired the team forward and put the scores on level terms with 15 minutes gone. Both teams exchanged two goals each within minutes of each other, but it was the home team that added three more green flags before half time leaving the score 5-02 to 2-02. The performance by the girls in the second half was something to behold. The heart and character displayed by the black and amber was worth the price in. Clodagh McGorrian and Alanna O'Brien led from the front. Wing forward Sabra Hickey was under every breaking ball that came off midfield and she drove forward beyond her markers at every opportunity. Jessie O'Connor, Emma Dowling and Amelie Hussey were courageous to the last in their efforts the keeping the Dingle defence busy to the end. They were rewarded for their never say die attitude when they converted a point with the last kick of the game to finish even on the scoreline of 5-05 apiece. The third game was at home v Kerins O Rahilly, and even though this was to be the teams first defeat in the competition all the girls and management were delighted to welcome back Clodagh Finn to the fold after her long lay-of with her foot injury.

The club would like to extend its thanks, firstly all the parents and players who were in a position to help out with the very successful church gate collection last weekend, and especially to the people of the parish who were so generous in their support of the U14 girls who'll be representing Kerry at the end of the month in Galway. Commiserations to our Kerry Senior footballers Amanda Brosnan and Kayleigh Cronin and to the Kerry U14 players Pia Hickey and Leah McMahon on last weekends results.
