TEXAS HOLDEM POKER CLASSIC: Dr. Crokes GAA Club, in association with Scott's Hotel and the Cue Club, Killarney, will hold a Texas Holdem Poker Classic on this Friday, 28th November in Scott's Hotel, College Street. It is a dealer-dealt tournament and entry is €30. SOUTH KERRY HURLING AWARDS NIGHT: The South Kerry Hurling Bord na nÓg will be holding the 4th Annual Awards Night in the Killarney Plaza Hotel on this Friday, 28th November. South Kerry members of the victorious Kerry Minor Hurling Team will be acknowledged as well as members of the various development squads. The South Kerry U12 team that travelled to the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick in August will also be acknowledged on the night. Special guest speaker is Cork's Senior Hurling Goalkeeper and 2-time GAA GPA All-Star Award winner, Anthony Nash. Furthermore, there will be a raffle for a range of spot-prizes during the course of the event. Proceedings will commence at 8:00pm sharp. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

ANNUAL RETREAT: This year, the annual retreat will take place in Ardfert on Wednesday, 3rd December. The bus to Ardfert will be in the High Street car park at 7:00pm.

RESULTS: Snr. Co. Lge - Div 1: Dr. Crokes 3-15, Waterville 3-08. Snr. Co. Lge. - Div 5: Dr. Crokes 4-12, Asdee 3-10. EK Mnr. C'ship Final: Dr. Crokes 1-11, Spa 0-12.

SNR CO. LGE. - DIV. 1: Round 11 of the Division 1 County League took place under lights at Lewis Road on Friday evening last. We led from the outset with Tony Brosnan a constant thorn in the side of the Waterville defence. Brosnan struck the net in the 4th minute to put us leading 1-01 to 0-00. Together with Brian Looney, Shane O'Neill and Eoin Brosnan, we led 1-07 to 0-01 at the break. Waterville opening the scoreboard in the second half but Brendan Falvey found the net to push out to a 2-08 to 0-04 lead. Waterville retaliated, two goals coming within 10 minutes. Ambrose O'Donovan and Bryan O'Shea added to the points tally to ensure we had a comfortable lead. Late into injury time, Waterville won a penalty and converted but the substantial lead secured victory. Full-time score: Dr. Crokes 3-15, Waterville 3-08. Scorers: Tony Brosnan 2-05, Brian Looney 0-04, Brendan Falvey 1-00, Ambrose O'Donovan 0-02, Shane O'Neill, Eoin Brosnan, Bryan O'Shea 0-01 each.

SNR CO. LGE. - DIV. 5: This Division 5 backgame took place on Sunday last. Asdee were first to take the lead, going 1-02 to 0-02 within the first few minutes. Tony Brosnan struck the net in the 15th minute to level matters and left Asdee chasing the game from then on. Half-time score: Dr. Crokes 1-07, Asdee 1-03. We won a penalty early in the second half, which Gavin Tucker converted. Strong play from James Jones, great movement by PJ Lawlor and further points from Tony Brosnan and Shane O'Neill increased our lead. Asdee responded with a goal but it wasn't to be as contant pressure on the Asdee defence led to another goal from Chris Brady followed by a Gavin Tucker penalty secured victory. Full-time score: Dr. Crokes 4-12, Asdee 3-10. If Dr. Crokes defeat Moyvane in the final round of the league, at a date to be confirmed, it will mean league victory. Scorers: Tony Brosnan 1-04, Chris Brady 1-02, Bryan O'Shea 0-03, Shane O'Neill 0-02, PJ Lawlor 0-01.

EK MNR. C'SHIP FINAL: In the Tatler Jack sponsored East Kerry Minor C'ship Div. 1 Final, Spa started stronger with 2 early points. Micheál Burns opened our account with a free in the 6th minute. After both sides swapped points, Spa had a shot on goal well saved by Johnny O'Leary at point blank range. Spa finished the half better but some superb shot-stopping again by Johnny O'Leary kept the deficit to a minimum. Half-time score: Dr. Crokes 0-03, Spa 0-07. The introduction of substitutions on both sides brought extra pace in the second half. A great sequence in play saw Micheál Burns place a perfect kick-pass into Jordan Kiely who made no error and found the Spa net early in the half. Spa responded with points but we had an answer for each score also; Creagh Courtney, Darren Doherty and Jordan Kiely on target. Micheál Burns brought matters level in the 48th minute with a point from play. We pulled 2 points ahead in the final 10 minutes. Spa came back to level but 2 points by Adam O'Shea in the final minutes ensured victory.East Kerry Board Chairman presented the Brendan Cronin Cup to our captain, Jordan Kiely. Full-time score: Dr. Crokes 1-11, Spa 0-12. Scorers: Jordan Kiely (1-01), Adam O'Shea (0-04;3f), Micheál Burns (0-03;1f), Creagh Courtney, Darren Doherty, David Naughton (0-01 each).

RESULTS: O'Donoghue Cup Qtr. Final: Dr. Crokes 2-06, Rathmore 2-07. U21 Club Cup Final: Dr. Crokes 0-11, An Ghaeltacht 2-10.

U21 CLUB CUP FINAL: We faced An Ghaeltacht in the U21 Club Cup in the curtain raiser to the Senior C'ship Final at Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday last. Wind assisted, An Ghaeltacht dominated the opening quarter with an early goal in the 3rd minute. By the 10th minute, An Ghaeltacht had increased their lead to six points (1-04 to 0-01) with Bryan O’Shea opening our account. An Ghaeltacht continued to pick off the points and at the break they were in a comfortable position when they led by 1-07 to 0-03. Bryan O’Shea and Jordan Kiely began to chip away at the An Ghaeltacht lead which saw the deficit cut to 4 points at the three quarter stage. Following points from Tony Brosnan and a long range point from Bryan O’Shea with five minutes to go, there was a precarious two point difference between the sides. An Ghaeltacht lived off their nerves in the remaining time when Dr Crokes had a goal disallowed for a square ball. A foul on an An Ghaeltacht player in our square in the 63rd minute, which was converted, was to be the final piece of action in the game. Full-time: Dr. Crokes 0-11, An Ghaeltacht 2-10.
