STRICTLY COME DANCING: On Thursday, 5th March 2015 Dr. Crokes go Strictly Come Dancing in the INEC, Killarney. After the Quiz Night in the Tatler Jack on Thursday 29 January (table of 4 - â¬20), organised by the Events Committee, in support of their couple, Frances O'Sullivan and Niall O'Callaghan, the Clear Air Boys will be seeking your support for their representatives. They are running a Golden Goal Promotion around the Kerry v Mayo NFL Game with tickets priced at â¬2. Tickets available from usual outlets and the Clear Air Boys. Make sure to get yours in support of the Club and in particular,dancing couples Andrea Leahy Hartnett / Andrew Kenneally and Maggie Casey/ Ger O'Shea. They're making the effort on behalf of the club, now its your turn. JUVENILE SALE OF WORK/CAKE SALE: The Ladies and Juvenile Sections are hosting a Sale of Work / Cake Sale in the Clubhouse on Saturday 14th February in support of their dancers, Helen Fitzgerald, Johnny McGuire, Mary Brosnan and Brian O'Callaghan. If you are spring cleaning, don't throw anything out just yet! We will arrange collection / delivery of any items such as books, clothes, DVDs, old Crokes gear, old football boots etc. What is not sold can be donated as appropriate afterwards. Further details to follow in next weeks notes and also watch Dr. Crokes social media.

All these fundraisers are vital to the clubs finances which service our considerable expenditure in fielding all teams, from Juvenile to Senior,so support in any way you can. Contact P.R.O at 085-8426667 if you can lend your assistance to all or any of the social fundraising events.

JUVENILE AWARD CEREMONY: Annual awards ceremony took place in the Clubhouse on 25 January 2015. District and County League medals were presented to our U15 Girls, U14 Boys and U16 Boys, while mementos of the playing year were also presented to all underage girls teams. Daithi Casey, Amanda Brosnan and Michael Burns were on hand to do the honors and the large audience was also addressed by Club Chairman, Denis Coleman, Juvenile Chairman, Pat O'Shea and Ladies Chairperson, Tommy Brosnan. Well done to all concerned for a well organised,enjoyable event.

LADIES AGM: The Ladies Section AGM was held on Friday 23 January with Tommy Brosnan taking over as Chairperson. Interest in ladies football continues to grow, with the club coaching juveniles from ages 4/5 upwards and fielding teams at all grades. The ladies section has been revitalised in recent years thanks to the efforts of a small band of dedicated Crokes supporters. Our young girls and ladies deserve as much support as their male club colleagues and take as much,if not more pride in donning the Black and Amber. Get involved in any way you can, your time is all the club needs, experience will follow. You'll get as much satisfaction from contributing as the girls get playing. SCÃR: Club members who may be interested in taking part in the upcoming Senior ScÃ³r (Over 17) and ScÃ³r na bPÃ¡isti (Primary School children ) competitions are asked to contact Cultural Officer Teresa Hickey on 086 3487671 as soon as possible. ScÃ³r competitions are as follows; Quiz, Recitation, Drama,Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Figure dancing, Set dancing and Instrumental group. These competitions commence in early February.

AGM: The Club AGM and Juvenile AGM were both very well attended in the past week. Chairperson Ger O'Shea, Secretary Matt O'Neill and P.R.O. Michael O'Keeffe stepped down after tremendous service in the roles. Incoming Chairperson, Denis Coleman, gave an inspirational address to those assembled, calling for a positive unified approach by all members towards Club affairs, leading to collective success on and off the field.

Condolences were paid to all members bereaved in 2014, including the families of two club stalwarts- Maureen Cooper and Bridie O'Shea.

The meeting recorded highlights of 2014 including;

Senior Football team won the County Club Championship for the third year in a row and will contest the 2014 County League Final v Austin Stacks.
Kieran O'Leary and Fionn Fitzgerald collected Sam Maguire and together with club and county teammates at Senior and Minor level, brought both trophies back to the Clubhouse on 23rd September, for an unforgettable night of celebration.
The Junior team won the East Kerry League and Molyneaux Cup and our second Senior County League team went unbeaten in winning Division 5.
The U21 team lost in the County Club Championship Final.
Beaten in the County Championship Final,our Minors finished the year as East Kerry Championship winners.
Senior Hurling team contested the final of the County Intermediate Championship.
Our Senior Ladies and U15 Girls both won silverware at County Level in 2015.
While developing juvenile players through an age appropriate coaching programme is our number one priority, we did also taste success in 2014 at underage level. The U16s won both East Kerry League and Championship and in their only defeat of the year went down by a point in the County League Final. Our U14B team won titles at divisional and county level.
The Clubs U10 Hurlers again won the Dr. Bill Mangan Trophy
The 3rd annual Colm Cooper Blitz for U13 boys was successfully held in September, attracting teams from home and abroad.
Off the field highlights included the Clear Air Boys day trip to Lord Brandons Cottage / Gap of Dunloe which was a particular social highlight.

MEDAL PRESENTATION: Dr Crokes U15 Girls and U14 & U16 Boys will be presented with their East Kerry and County League medals at a ceremony in the clubhouse at 6.00pm on Sunday 25th January 2015. All are welcome to attend.

LADIES AGM: Dr Crokes Ladies AGM will take place next Friday, 23rd January in the clubhouse at 7:15pm. Female or male, you can get involved. The girls deserve your support.

STRICTLY COME DANCING: On Thursday, 5th March 2015 Dr. Crokes go Strictly Come Dancing in the INEC, Killarney.

The pairings are as follows;

Representing Dr Crokes Events Committee are Frances O'Sullivan / Niall O'Callaghan. Their efforts will be supported by a Quiz Night in the Tatler Jack on 29th January 2015. Two couples Andrea Leahy Hartnett / Andrew Kenneally and Maggie Casey / Ger O'Shea are representing the Clear Air Boys and will be supported by a Golden Goal forecast for Kerry v Mayo NFL game on 1st February 2015. Maggie Casey / Ger O'Shea are sponsored by Vincent Casey Life & Pensions. Dr Crokes Senior Teams are again represented by two couples, Aine McMahon / Maurice O'Donoghue and Katie Hickey / Colm Foley. Both couples will be backed by a Race Night in Scotts Hotel on 6th February 2015. Katie / Colm are being sponsored in the event by Charlie Foleys. The Hurlers are represented by Kelly-Ann McSweeney / Mike Milner and Sinead Galvin / Brendan McMahon. They will be supported by a Golden Goal forecast for the Kerry v Dublin NFL game on 1st March 2015. Helen Fitzgerald / Johnny McGuire and Mary Brosnan / Brian O'Callaghan will carry the hopes of the Dr Crokes Juveniles / Ladies Sections. All four dancers will be supported by a Sale of Work/Cake Sale in the Clubhouse on Saturday 14th February 2015. Mary / Brian are also being sponsored by Kerry Coaches. A very strong pairing of Gemma Kavanagh / Johnny Courtney have attracted sponsorship from the Flesk Restaurant as they represent the Dr Crokes U16 / Minor Teams. These panels will raise funds for the couple through a car wash on the Clubs grounds on 21st February 2015. That's the couples and we will be following their progress on social media etc, building up to the big dance-off in the INEC on 5th March.

All ten dancers are making a huge effort on behalf of the club, so get behind them and support the social fundraising events in any way you can.

EAST KERRY AWARDS: East Kerry All Star Awards Banquet and presentation of Awards takes place this Friday evening, 16th January 2015 in the Gleneagle Hotel. Guest speaker on the night will be Rathmore and former Kerry Senior Goalkeeper, Declan OâKeeffe. Please support this event by attending. Admission is by ticket only which are available from club officers and East Kerry Board delegates and cost â¬35.

WELL WISHES: Happy to hear Donie Sheehan is recovering well after a short stay in hospital. Best wishes on a full recovery. Also, wishing Ger, Marguerite and Karen Brosnan a speedy recovery following a serious car accident in Australia.

CONGRATULATIONS: to Paddy and Anne O'Shea on their recent celebration of 50 years of marriage.

SYMPATHY: to the family, relatives and friends of Noreen Foran, O'Kelly's Villa, Killarney, who was laid to rest last weekend. She actively promoted our club lotto and sold many a ticket from its inception 20 years ago right up to the present day. Ar dheis DÃ© go raibh a anam dÃlis.

WEBSITE: The new Dr. Crokes website has been up and running for the past two months now. We are still compiling remaining information for the site. CLOTHES BANK: There is a clothes bank now permanently located at the rear of the clubhouse. Any old clothes, no longer required, can be deposited in bags at all times. As well as providing valuable funding to our juvenile section, proceeds from the bank also go towards the ISPCC.
