Club Notes Week 41 2025

County Senior Championship
Dr. Crokes 0:15 Mid Kerry 3:08. Our seniors bowed out of the County Championship after a hard-fought battle with Mid Kerry in poor conditions on Saturday last. Despite the tough conditions the boys showed great determination throughout. Playing against a strong wind in the first half it tested our patience as we had to work harder for our scores. Trailing 1:06 to 0:04 at the break, we showed real character to draw level midway through the half thanks to some fantastic two pointers from Tony Brosnan. However, two late Mid Kerry goals proved decisisive as we narrowly lost out on a quarter final spot. While the result didn’t go our way there were a number of positives in the performance and huge credit must go to the players and management for their continued effort and commitment.

Club Notes Week 39 2025

LGFA Senior Championship
Our Senior Ladies bowed out of the championship at the quarter final stage on Sunday 14th following a tough battle with 2023 champions Finuge/St. Senans. Played in windy conditions in Mountcoal, we played with the wind in the first half but got off to the worst possible start, conceding a goal inside two minutes. Despite this we kicked the next two points through Julie Delaney and Kate Stack but we were dealt another blow in the ninth minute with the concession of a second goal. However, great work from Treasa O Sullivan, Sarah Cooper, Niamh Stack along with points from Amanda Brosnan and a superb long range point by captain Siobhan Burns saw us trail by 5 at the break. Despite facing the strong wind in the second, we stayed in the game and some outstanding defending from Karena O Leary, Rocha Clifford, Megan Kiely and Annie Brosnan, as well as substitutes Lily Foley and Ali O Donoghue limited Finuge/St. Senans to three points. Further points by Amanda Brosnan and a point on the run from corner back Siofra Randles saw us cut the deficit to four points. However, despite the efforts of Leah Mc Mahon and Laura O Shea we couldn’t get the goal we so badly needed and ended up defeated on a scoreline of 2.10 to 0.11. While it was a disappointing end to the season, the players can be very proud in their achievement of winning the Donal Curtin Division 1 league title for the first time ever earlier in the season.

Club Notes Week 34 2025

Club Championship
Dr. Crokes 1:14 Rathmore 0:15. Our Senior Footballers showed great grit and determination as they overcame Rathmore by the narrowest of margins, with a late Alex Hennigan goal proving decisive in an enthralling East Kerry clash. The contest was tight throughout. Playing against a breeze in the opening half, we edged a 0:06 to 0:05 lead at the break. A fine second half 2-pointer from David Shaw, and the experience of Brian Looney and Tony Brosnan (who shared 8 point between them) helped to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Trailing by 2 with just 5 minutes remaining, we defended well and kept our composure. The breakthrough came in the 57th minute when super sub Alex Hennigan latched on to a high ball in from Gavin O’Shea and drove the ball passed Shane Ryan in the Rathmore goal. Our opposition pushed hard for an equaliser, however the scoreboard remained in our favour. Our club championship campaign continues with either a quarter final or semi final place

EK Junior League Final

After early wides from both sides, it was Liam Kelliher who opened the scoring in the 10th minute. The key moment of the half came in the 25th minute when Aodhan Burns stuck the ball into the back of the Rathmore net. By the break, we led 1:06 to 0:03. We pushed on in the second half with fine scores from Aodhan Burns, Liam Kelliher, Kacper Robak, Brendan Falvey and Sean Fitzgerald.
