Senior County Championship - Semi-Final

In a game in which both teams were evenly matched the teams must meet again as they were still inseparable on the scoreboard on a score of 0-18 to South Kerry boys and 1-15 to us.
The first half was keenly contested even though we led at the end of the first quarter 0-4 to 0-2. South Kerry were far more prominent in the second quarter but we still had a lead of two points as we approached half time. South Kerry, however, outscored us two points to one. This gave us a 0-7 to 0-6 lead at half time.
We had a great start to the second half sending over four points without reply in the first ten minutes to go into a five point lead. South Kerry were well on top in the next ten minutes and their five unanswered points gave them equality going into the last ten minutes. The teams exchanged points on three occasions in the remaining minutes to send the game into extra time.
Even though we had chances in the first ten minutes of extra time we failed to score while our opponents sent over three points to lead 0-3 to nil.
When our opponents had a score at the start of the second half our chances of staying in the competition did not look good. Our players, however, showed great fighting qualities. A point in the 13th minute by us just left the goal between us. A very good passing movement, starting in the half-back line brought us right up to our opponents fourteen yards line and ended with a sublime finish for a goal from Tony Brosnan.
The replay is fixed for next weekend.

Club members Under 17 years on 1st January 2020 are now invited to participate in the Scor Competitions.
These begin at Club & East Kerry level shortly and with the County Final in December.
The All Ireland Finals will be held in Killarney.
