Club Notes Week 41 2020   12/10/2020

On Monday,October 5th The GAA’s Management Committee endorsed a decision to suspend all GAA Club games at all levels with immediate effect and until further notice. The decision has been taken in the interest of public safety following a number of incidents that have been brought to their attention. In particular, post-match celebrations and a lack of social distancing at certain events have proved disappointing and problematic. This directive applies to all ages and all grades across the island. Club Social Centres / bars are also to close. Training will continue to be permitted as per the guidelines outlined for the relevant levels in the Government's National Framework for Living with Covid 19 and relevant guidelines in the Six Counties.

The GAA will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days and weeks, regarding changes in government guidelines, before liaising with our units accordingly.

The Association would also like to acknowledge all of those units who have worked diligently in complying with the public health advice around the staging of our games and training sessions since activity resumed. More than ever, we ask that you continue with this approach regarding training sessions.

CHILD SAFEGUARD  The Club is accepted for the GAA Super Club Games programme, however, the programme is suspended for a few weeks due to the Covid-19 restrictions and further information is to follow as to when it is to be rescheduled as things progress.

In the meantime, please see the information below regarding the Child Safeguarding 1 Course and a link for an application form for courses being held on 3 dates - Friday, 16, 23 and 30 October next - I understand that only 24 can be accommodated on each course so these will fill very quickly and application must be made before 5pm on the 14 October next.  This workshop is 3 hours and is something that we have been trying to arrange for the Club since before the original lockdown so it would be great if as many as possible who need to complete the training would do so and we may need to organise our own training for anyone else who cannot get on a course or cannot attend on the 3 dates being provided.
