Club Notes Week 24 2022   20/06/2022

Div.3 Hurling Dr.Crokes 1-06 St. Brendan’s 2-15. Our second team met St. Brendan’s on Friday evening in the Division 3 league final in Caherslee. We were well in the game, just two points behind, up to the half time break but following a red card given to one of our better and more experienced players early in the second half our well supported opponents upped their game and put us to the sword with a final score line of St Brendan's 2.15 Dr Crokes 1.06. Still, a good learning experience for our lads who now look forward to the Junior Championship. Great to see a father and son, Paul and Brandon Griffin playing with us in the game. Brandon was one of our better performers on the night and another player, Joe McCann, who recently transferred to us from the hurling stronghold of County Louth gave a fine performance as well. Congratulations to our very sporting opponents on their fine win.

U13 Our U13 boys put on a great display of skills with a big win over Kenmare Shamrocks at home last Wednesday evening. Dr.Crokes B 3-11 Kenmare Shamrocks B 0-05. They have now qualified for the final.

U12 Girls Our U12 girls were in action last Tuesday evening against a very strong Kilcummin side in the county league. After a great battle Kilcummin deservedly took the spoils. We were delighted with our girls who are continuing to show huge improvements since the beginning of the season. There is a bright future for these hard working enthusiastic ladies! Well done.

GO GAMES Our U9 hurlers played Firies away from home. There were some great displays of skills on a lovely night for hurling. Our U7 hurlers were also out for their first game of the season. It was a great night for all making their debut in the black and amber.
